I think, those three phoneticly similar words have been replaced in many regions with the "urban" form, "Dere".

So, "There they are!" would actually be; "Dere dey are!"

They're, is slightly different, having the form "Dare".

Other words that have succumb to the "D" treatment are;

That, becomes "Dat"

This, becomes "Diss" (also used as "Diss", when referring to a lack of respect).

Them, becomes "Dem" (as in "dem bones, dem bones).

They, becomes "Dey".

Though, becomes "Doh".

These, becomes "Dese".

Notice how the accompaniment of "t" and "h", seems to have been almost universally replaced, with simply "D".

When these combinations are put together, particularly with a Scouse accent, they can becomes quite amusing;

"Dey don't talk like we do, do dey doh?"

:D

Is it just me or does anybody else think that when people consciously adopt this style of speaking, all they do is flag up their ignorance?

They just sound thick to me...I ain't the best spoken person and my diction is questionable to say the least but the way I speak is reflective of where I was born in London and my family unit.
It is an emergent property of the formative years of my childhood but the same cannot be said for a lot of today's young where they deliberately change the way they speak at an age when the way they speak has long been ingrained. and they do this because.....?
To appear hard?
To mirror their peer group?
Hmmmm...it beats me ...:rolleyes:

I think the most concerning thing is, is that these imbeceiles that cant even string a sentence together often share the some genome that makes them incapable of putting a condom on, which puts the health of the genepool in quite serious danger.

Our only weapon is aids.

Seems a bit harsh but wholly effective..:)

The American way of spelling it - so it's correct :p.

"Aids as a weapon" - interesting thought. All we need to do now is make it 'selective' then genecide will, at last, be possible :rolleyes:.
