Shocker NXT or Etek Ego ?

Which of these is the better marker ? i know you will say its down to personal preference blah blah blah but in your opinions which is the better marker ? ive heard the shockers are hard to maintain ? not heard much about the etek only that my friend bought a new one and 1st game the oops leaked. The shocker is £50 cheaper than the etek, do you lose anything in that £50 ?

Altho i'm not a fan of shockers, I do really love the look of the NXT, dont really like the looks of the eTek so much... personaly, that as far into thought i've gone into both

Seriously, these threads, although may help sway certain peoples thoughts about a certain marker, it is all down to personal preference. Each different person will come on here and say how the other marker is better than the other blablabla. Saying how they had a problem with the shocker and the etek was fine. Next wil come along saying how they didnt have a problem with the shocker but didnt like the etek.

Sooner or later a gun is going to break a part, be it nearly straight out the box or after how ever many thousands of shots. Its pick of the luck. You'r friend with the etek was probly just unlucky as I know many people that havnt had an issue with there etek. Same goes with shockers, I know many that havnt had a problem with these guns. There isnt any way to really say whats a better gun, taking a poll wont exactly help because there is that huge amount of people that probly own or have a view that can't really be bothered to post up about it.

I own Egos and NXTs they are both great guns. And to be honest you can't really go wrong with either

For every person that slags off one gun, another will defend it. for god's sake, just find players that have them and ask to try them out for "YOURSELF".
The shocker could be the most amazing gun in the world, but if the etek is better balanced, fits you better, suits you better, and you like it. then there's no point buying the shocker
75% of all markers have equal performance, with only a few markers letting the side down. They are now designed with a certain criteria in mind, speed, efficiency, weight, etc etc etc. so if a gun can shoot 300fps over 1200 shots, and weigh less than a breeze block, then people will buy them.
Seriously, seek out players that use them, try the guns to see if they are right for you.
My opinion only, i don't like the feel of the shocker, it just isn't right. Ego's feel good to me, so i assume the etek would too, the ion feels playable but not great, don't really like timmys, they're to square? You considered the Minion?

small light fast simple and feels good too, but personally i buck the fashion trend and rip it big time with a good old fashioned cocker

my 2 pence

I went threw the same proccess a few weeks back and decide for the Etek the main reason is I can actually drive to planet and pick up spares or get tech support.
I notice you live in preston so your probelry only 30 mins drive from planet.
My old gun was an Impulse and ordering from SP was sometimes a pain
last time I placed and order for an LPR it took 11 days to arrive and the instrution were ****e to say the least.
Saying that I have odred from SP before and had fast and prompt delivary but with the ETEk I can jsut get in the car and go pick up the bits and ask advice at the shop which I am sure you can as well only being 35/40 miles away.

Buy an NXT shocker from Smart Parts, they are the best marker on the market right now.

Put an Empire reloader b on it because these are the best loaders on the market.

Shoot draxxus paint through it as this is the best Paint on the market.

Go to your local/ nearest shop and see what they have available in your price range and what suits you best. Also see if they have the tech knowlegde to fix any problems for you if and when they occur.

Both are:

- fast
- light
- breakbeam eyes
- microswitch board
- integrated grip frame rail
- highly adjustable triggers

Shocker pros
- 2 peice barrel comes stock (no locking feedneck)
- spool valve operation = quiter, low recoil
- only got semi and rebound, blackheart board doesnt come stock.

ETEK +
- locking feedneck stock ( 1 peice barrel)
- ram / hammer operation so easier to tech but louder
- 5 tournament modes on the board


i think the NXT is cheaper, but add a tournament board and a locking feedneck and the prices are looking pretty close. at that point, its up to you on looks and whehter you want a quieter higher maintenance marker, or you want an easy to fix, louder marker.

a few people have said the shocker is high maintainence, why is this ? do they go t!ts up quite often ? i live 30 min from planet so if i bought an etek i could get spares etc very quickly, but you shouldnt favor a product because its easier to get parts for should you ?
