yes - they are better or so i am informed - never used either personally. get a second hand marker if your first starting out for definate. i have an angel - they are very very nice guns.
yeh, do paintball markers lets say angels ever break down so to speak haha? like break? because if it did i wouldn't know what to do.

Also i know nothing about the Air what is needed or anything? why is air tanks more expensive than others if you just refill your air free at walk ons?
i know nothing about paintballing other than push the trigger haha

Oh dont get me wrong, i started last year with an Angel 4 fly and I loved it, but compared to modern guns, its a heavy girl to carry around with you and play with, the new ones are so much lighter :) but given the chance i would have started with something different.

Hey there dude welcome to the world of paintballing and you have started off good getting on these forums.

Well you need to let every one know were you are from so that people can point you in the right direction.

The best advice i give newbies is try before you buy mate some sites lend out kit.

maybe go to your local site or training ground and ask some of the players if you could try there marker.

We at the northern quarter lend out eteks and the new ego 07 for people to try out.

But there our loads of players that are about at our place that would let you try them.

hope this helps mate if you need any more info just give me a shout on markie@northernquarterpb.com

Would it not be better just to get the new Proto rail or save up a wee bit and get an Etek?
up to you tbh

but think on this you can get a 05 ego for £300

or a pm6/pm5 for 200-250

etek is a good gun same with the ego and pmr

it all depends if you want new or old

with new you do get a years warrenty which might be better for a new player

For more information, pics and reviews on the 05 speed take a look here:

http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/4405/

Don't get fixated on one marker though - Keep your options open to newer and cheaper guns which are probably easier in terms of maintenance. Guess I'm slightly biased towards Dye products but at least take a look and try out the Proto Matrix Rail - Targetted at a range of players, not only newcomers, because its:

1) Cheap (in comparison with others of a similiar standard)
2) Easily upgradeable (trigger, barrel, frame, ASA etc)
3) Lightweight
4) Easy to maintain
5) If something breaks down, there are many more people you can turn to for advice on fixing it.

You don't want to through yourself in the deep end with a marker that you have no idea on how it works, based on its looks.
