Review

Alrighty then, I received a pair the other day and have gotten around to taking some pics and written a little review.

They come wrapped in cellophane to protect the surface from dirt, dust and scratches in transit. Upon unwrapping I was immediately impressed by the quality of the cut and clarity through them (I received clear ones). They’re perfectly matched to the shape of my alias frame and have a lovely smooth chamfer so they don’t catch on your gloves or scratch your hands. A nice improvement on the stock grips and even the Hybrid ones.
One big plus is the 4 sealed silver grip frame screws included which are nice and short so they will not puncture your solenoid/battery etc. unlike a lot of stock screws, which will after switching to aftermarket grips. The grips haven’t got countersunk holes for the screws, but as they are dome headed they don’t interfere with your hand or grip.
Upon basic visual inspection they seem to be just over 2mm thick. Which seems pretty thin, but when installed on both sides of the marker gives plenty of width to wrap your hand around.
As for slip, when compared with the gloss coat on the marker the material they’re manufactured out of seems to have more grip. When handling it without gloves I didn't find that it slips out of my hand or feel insecure. With gloves, depending on what type you have, it may be a little slippy against the fabric, but I didn’t experience any trouble with standard stances or switching hands. With paint on the grip after being shot I can imagine they would be as slippy as any other paint covered grip, but these have the added bonus that when you wipe them down all of the paint gets wiped away too. There are no grooves for the paint to hide in.

All in all I’m rather impressed and very happy with them. I will be ordering a couple more set for my other guns!

They look better than I thought they would :).

Now with the dollar so low against the pound - are they any cheaper ;)?

J/K - but I think the clear would look great with some sort of logo behind (especially with my team one behind it).

What was the final PayPal'd and posted price on ION clear and yellow ones?

Ta

PS - I like the idea that paint shots can be easily wiped off

They will be cheaper than £15, I gave that as a slightly high guide price so I didn't end up saying 'Woops, it's actually going to cost more'.

It'll probably be more like 12/13 shipped after paypal fees and shipping costs.

Final figure will be posted in a couple week. I'm flying back on the 4th January so I'll put in the order around Christmas/New Year. This will give him time to attempt the DM6 ones and get the Mini grips etc all sorted.

Shall I put you down for some yellow and clear ion ones Raffles?
