in relation to the welsh open thread, where is this rule that says no thanking/bigging up/congratulating people on the boards.

it aint in the SYB rules, or in any of the other rules on any of the other forums...?

youd be the best mod ever if you could answer this, thanks alot ;)

The occasional thread of that sort is tolerated in A,C & Q purely at moderator discretion. And as B3 says, it's a long-standing unwritten rule. :) You'll simply have to take our word for it.
I tend to trash all of them because I'm just that bitter and empty and when there's any indication you people might be enjoying something it depresses me-- until I delete it, then I feel better.

There was a time when the majority of such threads were used as opportunities for the posters to publically associate themselves with one thing or another and bask in the reflected limelight. When that got just plain silly the threads of that sort were stopped and the unwritten rule written--in the hearts of the Mods.;)

That will, of course, be 7 demerits for asking a mod to explain himself but 7 isn't so many as long as you are, you know, careful from here on out.:rolleyes:

EDIT ADDED: Just noticed you're from Jockland so that'll only be 3 demerits. We make allowances.

It amazes me that people actually think p8ntballer.com is some sort of socialist enterprise.
Some people think that because they post here, it then gives them a right to tell us how to run it ... it doesn't, not in any way, shape or form.
However, this does not mean we do not listen to people because we do and in essence, we really are nice people and want exactly the same as do the majority of people who post here and the operative word there was, 'majority'.

As seems to be the case in life, it's always the minority who fack it up for the majority and in providing limits for the idiots of this world, we then sometimes have to infringe upon the sensibilities of the reasonable..and for that we are sorry.

That wasn't an apology by the way (because we have nothing to apologize for in this sense), it's just a statement of regret that we have to deal with these idiots in the first place.

We get many types of idiot who post on here; the young and naive, the stupid, the ignorant, the agenda ridden ******* and the downright mischievous and we have to deal with them all... eventually, we become a little tired with them all when on top of that, some of these jerks would have us believe we are accountable to them and they begin telling us how we should run our site .....

Thank heaven tho that the vast majority of our 12 thousand or so members are pretty cool and responsible and for the most part, this site is a real kick ass place to come visit if paintball is your thang.
