Campaign @ Crystal Palace, opinions...

Thanks for the kind comments guys, us bunker cleaners all worked our socks off and so did the organisers (cheers andy your a top bloke)
anyway, enough mutual man love for the boys in blue.... back to the point of the thread.
I had one of the first cars done on thursday over £3000 worth of kit after me 43 others were done in the next 3 days sorry but there was no fuc**ng security all weekend thats why it should be any place but there again.
Hotels you had to be mad to go out after dark (and yes i can handle my self
) but the place is a sh*t hole.
All i was told buy the ms staff was well what do you exspect its crystal palace .....
Well i think not haveing all the teams kit nicked should be the least...
Still i had no problems with the feilds and even had french marshals back us against a french team

I did not play at Campaign, although I was working on one of the trade stands. I must admit though that the Millennium staff had their work cut out, working through most of Saturday night to get everything back to some degree of normality.
The trade show was good, although there were few sales. Stadium was pretty naff , security was poor too- when I arrived at the site on Sunday, they were turning people away who did not have a Player/ Staff/ Sponsor pass, although I dont know if this was relaxed later in the day. Oh, and apparently, the players area smelt of weed (so I was told anyway).
Hotels were pretty poor too. Norfolk House Hotel was too far away (It wasn't 10 minutes from the site - trust me) ,it smelt of death and was not very clean. Queens Hotel was OK though ,along with Jury's Inn.
Despite all the problems, I still had a very good weekend. It could have been far worse.
Credit to everyone who worked long hours to make the event keep running - you all did a superb job!

Yeh, I had the odd chav come up to me asking me every question on the surface on the earth about paintball...like..."do you get bonus points for shooting the different shapes"
That was nice to see. And that crystal palace was in the middle of a busy place attracting newbies to the sport and too watch which was fantastical for promoting the sport.
But on the other hand this is a disadvantage for all the theives about trying to get there hands on some tasty gear, and the buggers succeded but this cant be the mainreason why so many of you didnt like the events venue.

I know the Millennium are looking at venues that will give everything the players and the trade require next year but finding suitable venues is a hard job!
I am sure we will get there but but while things are being improved we have to be thankful that we have tournaments like this to play. Afterall.... that's what we pay for. To play the game.
As far as giving the players the stage to do that, the Millennium is doing a great job.
To my knowledge, every team that entered had air, staging area, the required amount of judges and the facilities to do just that at Campaign.

I agree Jeff.. The MS crew do a fantastic job in what they do, without doubt. But I think their efforts could be greatlyput to effect at another UK venue.. Like you said the the 2 venues in quest N.E.C (National exhibition centre) and Crystal Palace (an international athletics stadium), why go for such big venues when we dont actually need them. I think stick to basics..
