I think respect is due for both types tourney or woodland paintball. I also think its wrong to shoot down tygers points of view. I see it everyday woodland players accepting tourney yet tourney players laughing at woodland players. Some of the biggest names and biggest teams came from woodland paintball. If you know whats what I dont need to name them.
I think it would be ace to mix both games and see hwo comes off worse. Maybe have inflatable trees and soft tree stumps yet we all wear red, pink and blue camoflage!

I wonder (and this could well be a different thread, but what the hell) if Sup'Air/"Arena style tourney ball" is contributing to the shrinking of the player base (in the UK anyways).
When I started, the tourneys were in the woods, and weren't much different to a regular punter day. PGI was full of pics of people doing what I do, but with shiny gats and very occaisionally shiny tops. It was the next logical step to take things a bit more seriously.
If I had just started playing ball now, I'd have started the same way, a few days in the woods. Found PGI and looked at it, thinking, what the hell is all that running around on bowling greens behind inflatables all about?
I'm not sure I'd have gone any further than a few rec days a year, as the step up to tourney from the weekend warrior is a lot bigger than it was a few years ago.

As I've said before my nizzle i fo sho love da woodz fool but I've been known to play both sides of the sport (ya da east and west sidez massive like) nothing is more funny than having a bash at speedball type games with an A-5 or 98C, they may not be ideal but for me its fun and that is what the main point of paintball should be: having fun, the reason we play different styles of paintball is because some people have more fun playing one type than another and as long as we are having good clean honest fun thats all that matters.
Mor sitting on the fense I know but it's my opinion.

I don't think the point of this thread was to establish who was having more fun. That's pretty subjective anyway !
Nobody is criticising woodsballers per se but what I am saying is, woodsball, as it is played now (and has been in the past) is a technically and tactically inferior indulgence than competitve Sup Air.
That sir is what is wrong with people like yorself, you say you are not insulting woodsball yet calling i inferior is quite obviously an attack on woodsball , you wouldnt go up to an olimpic athelete and say his sport is inferior to football, then state it is no insulting.
p.s. how Tyger is bitter I wll never know and he has no illusions of his aility as he has stated many times.
p.p.s. Woosballers don't use 50foot sniper barrels that wouldbe mil simmers andthey deserve respect to.

I can say that I like tournament paintball....but I can't say ANYTHING about woodsball...because I for one, have no experience in it. I am yet to play it.

Anyways, I'm afraid you can't just go and say 'you are wrong', leastwise on this forum, without substantiating your opinion.
And thus, I await not only your rationale but also your credentials...and while I am waiting I will use a phrase I have oft mentioned in situations like these that seems wholly applicable when I look over your posts :-
'Don't turn up to a gunfight with a knife' or in your case, a stick of rhubarb.
And by the way, what did make me smile about your post, apart from the glaring lack of sophistication, was when you mispelled 'woodsballers' and put 'woosballers'.....oh my...he shoots he scores...but this time phillips, an own goal methinks ...go play some more woosball, it suits ya
well this was a very long... and fun argument to read. YAY to sitting on the fence... i like both... playing army and playing tourny. combining the two is fun too... taking an 06 EGO on ramping to a punter day = muchos fun.
