I had the chance to shoot HK paint not too long back - it was good n'all, but I thought the fill was very watery. Wasn't the newest of batches though.

Best paint I've ever shot was a few years ago, when we had a few "golden cases" of Marballizer. Shot where I pointed it and brittle enough to break on pads. Was glorious stuff. This year, we've shot GI. 4 star was good, 3 star is consistently mediocre. I did try Redemption Pro at one round of CPPS - it was a nice enough ball, but it was rolling through a .679 (smallest barrel I had).

Overall best paint I've shot over the years has got to be the Delios stuff that Simon (Maxs) was selling last year. Dropped from knee height and it broke every time.

I don't know where this "new/fresh batch" thing came from. I worked for a paint manufacturer years ago and good paint is good paint. I shot some top end stuff that was a good couple of years old and it was fantastic.

What makes the paintball "good"? And what's the difference between £25 and.£35 paint?
£10

Each grade of paint goes from the cheapest rental paint to the most expensive professional tournament paint
That doesn't mean the top grade is best

Basic rental is low grade and will go through bushes
Top grade is extremely fragile which will break on hitting anything but will also only survive going through a barrel if the gun is gentle and barrel matched to the bore

Something inbetween is best for general use

The best and worst paint I have ever shot is GI 5 star. On a warm but not too hot day it shoots straight and you don't get any bounces at all. If the weather is slightly too cold then it won't even leave the barrel, if it does then you have no idea which direction its going to go in.

Valken crusade is above average though so I will normally go for that 9 times out of 10.
