Has anyone got any rumours about how big the upgrade kit is for PALS?
I have just had enough time (~30 mins) to sit down and work out what bunkers each league has, how many of each bunker would be needed so they could all run each other's format, and then try and slim that down to fit in the sizes of upgrade pack that have been rumoured across the boards.
Based on the following information I have, it's actually not that hard to make a reasonable stab at it:
UK Bunker Changes 2016
+ 4 x Mayan Temple
+ 8 x Tree
+ 6 x Mini-Centre (Mini-W?)
+ 1 x Central bunker (W?)
- 6 x Cone
- 1 x M
- 2 x M extension (the legs)
- 2 x Medusa
- 2 x Giant Medusa
- 4 x Mini-M
US changes 2016
+ 6 x Mini-Centre
+ 1 x Central bunker
- 1 x Race
- 6 x Mini-Race
- 1 x Snake Beam
- 2 x Wing
PALS changes 2016
+ 6 x Mini-Centre
+ 1 x Central bunker
+ 2 x Mayan Temple
+ 2 x Tree
+ 1 x Snake Beam
- 4 x Elbow
- 2 x Mini-A
- 1 x A
This is on the basis of the NXL upgrade pack being a 7-bunker kit which was a rumour I heard a while back. If it is a 5-bunker kit as rumoured on other forums more recently, then it looks probable that there would be 4 Mini-Centres not 6, and the 2 Wings from NXL would stay as part of the full field.
If anyone can confirm the PALS upgrade pack size to be 12 bunkers, that'd pretty much cement the above, as far as I can see. There are not that many ways to get to a total of 47 bunkers making N changes to each league's existing fields anyway.
If anyone wants to see the workings, happy to send them over, but it's a naff plain text document which doesn't appear to format nicely onto here at all.

getting the mayan temples back again will be massively welcomed! however losing the medusas not so much.
The trees coming back is nothing more than just a few more pins from back in the day too.
I would be sad to see the cones go after only having them for a season, whilst not really being playable, they changed the lanes up which was both frustrating and enjoyable.
On the basis of the above post, a mini 'W' (on the assumption the central bunker will be a 'W') will be a weird bunker to play... not sure how they plan on pulling that one off.
Will be interesting to see if they bring in the minor/major penalties to europe, over the 1/2/3/4-for-1s too.

The cones were interesting, but probably contributed to the lack of central bunkers in recent layouts - replacing them with pins which are a bit more playable could give a lot more options for players off the break, as well as breaking up lanes even more.
It's a shame if the straps are going, they always happened to be sitting exactly where you wanted to hold a lane.
I'm not fully convinced the central bunker will be a W - fairly sure the practicality of it staying upright will be considered, especially considering how much the sites are paying for the bunkers! Although maybe it could have it's own straps across the top to hold it together.
