Just thought if say hello to the forum. My names Sean and I ball in the Essex area mainly at a place called mayhem.

As said in title im new I was looking to get some advice on a marker and gear.
So far I have....
Dye i4 mask
Empire jersey
Empire bottoms
Dye attack pack
Dye locklids x6
Halo b hopper
Empire air tank (steel 3k)

All I'm missing is the second most important bit the marker. I've been looking around and the one I really like is the etek 4.
Is there anything I'm missing?
Is the marker any good?
Is the gear I have any good?
Thanks for the help in advance

First of all, welcome to the forum :)

I have an Etek4 and I've got nothing but praise for it! It's a great marker, bulletproof reliable, easy to maintain and being an Eclipse marker, you get great customer service too.

I can't see anything that you're missing :) The only thing that I would say is to make sure you have appropriate footwear. If you're a woodsball/scenario player then I'd suggest getting some good, strong, sturdy boots or if you're more of a tournament player then something more like football/astroturf shoes are probably better suited :)

Hope I managed to help and if you have any more questions about the Etek4, feel free to contact me :)

The rest is just the sundries of barrel condom, fluffy / barrel squeegee.
You're pretty sorted.

Some will recommend other hoppers and/or a fibre cylinder, but the halo will keep up with anything you can use in the uk, and you can wait on a fibre until you decide there is a need - either ergonomicaly to balance for you or if sites that you goto offer 4500psi fills

You can always add something, multi barrel sets/sizers - but not essential
Spares, tools and maintenance items such as lube - pretty essential but dependant on the gun you finalise on

I always like to recommend a personal handheld chrono, it lets you setup & test at home if suitable, and to adjust before queueing at events which saves you going back and forth if adjustments are needed

What are you into? Walkons, woods, somewhere unique, tournament etc ?

Thanks for the replays guys.
The etek deafinatly sounds like the way to go.do you no anywhere good and reputable to get one? And are second ones worth looking at?

I like all sorts of play but my favorite has to be speedball. Ive been asked to try outs with a team but with work it's difficult. Something I really wanna do is tournaments tho

Buying second hand is definitely a viable and cheaper option. If buying new then any of the site sponsors are a safe bet :)

Welcome buddy!

Etek's are fantastic markers. I used a new 4 when my Ego 6 went down in a tourney a few months ago and I was very impressed with how smooth and accurate it was. Definitely recommend looking second hand, both on here and on facebook groups around your area. If you haven't already, try and get a shot of some older (9/10) ego's, since they are the step up from the Etek and can be very competitively priced!
