Ground Zero was a team based out of New York, financed by - I think - Jerry Braun, who ran Paintball Sports Magazine and also owned a field in New York state.

The team had lots of talent on the roster - Nicky Cuba, the Lundqvist brothers, Dennis Mood, Robert Rose and Will Arroyo, and were quite successful in the late 90's/early 2000's.

They went through a number of roster losses and additions, notably the Blonksi brothers, and with the advent of X-Ball, they became New York Extreme but struggled to adjust to the fomat and eventually disbanded.

Hope this helps.
Thanks Jon, had one of their Intimidators a while back....almost wish i'd kept it now lol

The GZ timmy was a thing of beauty. Although it tended to turn itself off when you switched hands, because you could catch the switch. I played with one at the Welsh Open that year, went for the mug on the last guy and the gun wouldn't fire as I'd swapped hands on the run down. The guy looked at me, stood up and walked off the field....

Cook$ - 2K2 my friend, your memory fails you.

How do I know it was 02 for sure? Because GZ were everybody's whipping boys that tourney (sorry but they were sh#te from all the drinking and smoking) - including us (Rushers). The Rushers broke up in 02 so it couldnt have been 03.

I distinctly remember a couple of kidney shots for Richmond Italia at the end of our game against them (and no offence to RI but I dont think that they were exactly strengthened by his run out for them but he seemed to be having some fun in any case).

I remember the best times of paintball between 89-92, I remember the straw dogs and the deaths head teams in Dorset.

I Used to shoot with Andy Shearing? I recently heard he went on to play tournaments on both sides of the Atlantic, anyone know who I am talking about?
