Where do I start?..

Hi folks. I have been getting more and more into paintball over the past few years, I started through a good friend who is a die-hard baller. I first played at the site he works at, met even more sound folk there that were well into balling as well so I then started to go up on Saturdays to marshall and playing a bit more. I experienced paintfest last year for the first time and will definitely going back this year, It was awesome! Anyway onto my question I have got a few bits of kit like gogs, playing pants, jersey, etc but I am now wanting to get a battle-pack, marker, air bottle and hopper. Does anyone have any suggestion for a good first time tourney marker that would be good to go for and what sort of hopper would be best? Also I have only really played at the one site and would love to know of any others that you think would be good to check out?Thanks for reading guys Willie

I played and worked up at Skirmish Dorset near Bere Regis. I played the paintfest site but only really saw a few of the game fields and I played zombieland at the weekend because I couldn't miss the chance to play in a themepark Where abouts do guys play?

The paintfest site is npf and is a great site, I play around the midlands and bricket wood for speedball

I really want to try speedball, it look amazing fun! A few of my mates play it quite a lot but I've only watched. Do you play for a team? What sort of marker do you use?

i had my first training session a few weeks back and loved it, I'm currently using a mini which was also my first marker, I would advise getting a 2nd hand tourney marker like the mini or etha if you want to try speedball because they are cheaper but still good.

Hey buddy, do you still live near bere regis? I used to live there and the captain of reading entity still does. You should perhaps try going to the Bristol site if you can which is where entity train. You could probably find a team to join there and get properly into sup air.

I live over near Bournemouth but I have heard of entity through some mates. I was told about going to skirmish Bristol where they do the cribs tourney but I would to try the super fives first I think once I get a marker. I like the idea I getting a mini or an etha but I have been borrowing a mates ego6 and I am tempted to try and get an ego9 second hand and as really like the feel of them. Do think that's a good idea?

Hi mate it all really depends on your budget as to what to recommend. I would say buy a carbon bottle straight away, otherwise you will be out shot on the feild all the other players will have manly 68/4500 bottles you can get one 2nd hand for under £100 then marker minis are wicked little starter markers 2nd hand £120-£180 depending on condition and upgrades. then loader for under £50 halo2 all day if you can afford £70-90 you can get a Z2 or Rotor. So £300 could get you a nice setup.
