Reg extender?

Probably the wrong subsection. If it is apologies.
I'm after a reg extender and require some advice. As I'm purchasing a new marker I don't want to thread the reg. so I was thinking of leaving a reg extender in the marker Asa permanently. Then if that got threaded, I could just replace it very easily and cheaply.
Would that work properly? Would the on off Asa still function properly? I imagine it won't. Which doesn't matter. The main priority is not threading the asa.

Reg bonnets can be replaced... eg on Ninja regs, so it's a serviceable part. Protect the reg thread using a reg protector.

Take care when screwing the air tank into the marker and don't force it will help avoid cross threading!

What on earth is a reg bonnet? I want to protect the reg on the marker. As it'll more or less be impossible to come by an Asa of the same colour.

A reg extender screws onto the reg/air bottle... the reg bonnet is the part of the reg/air bottle that has the thread. From your first post, I had interpreted you want to protect the threads on the air bottle. So was making the point it is a servicable part

You want to protect the reg on the marker or the ASA... they are generally different items. What marker do you have?

An axe. Protecting it is essential. I have a habit of threading. I'll be getting a new reg on my bottle incase it's that causing an issue too! Just gotta fit the bloody thing!
Any advice on a good reg? Price doesn't really matter. The bottles a 4500psi pure energy.

I'd recommend a Ninja reg, high quality and very consistent.

I presume you mean you have a habit of cross threading... so not sure if you hold the marker facing down when screwing in the tank? But angling this way, the vertical orientation of the air bottle helps the reg thread align with the ASA thread... which makes it less likely to cross thread!

Also there should never be any resistance as you screw the tank in, so if you "feel" that you are risking cross threading

Myth or ninja mate, can't really comment on any others as haven't used any others for a few years. I have the ninja pro at the moment, as i think the axe is reccomended to use lp either the ninja slp or an adjustable one should fit the bill.
