Hi,
so ive been playing paintball for approx 8 months or so now going as often as possu le ( maybe 2/3 Times a month. I bought an A5 and it has been doing very well for me :) after about three months I upgraded alot of it - e-trigger, upgraded bolt, hammer, spring, and tge full cyclone feed- and boy did I feel a difference! I now feel like I want to play more tournement style and speedball style. Although I play indoors and try to play that style my a5 just isnt the right shape or weight ect.... but I am having a tough time deciding what is a decent first tourny marker, and whither to go second hamd or brand new, so any suggestion please help, looking to spend no more than £250-300

Thanks Adam

yea 2nd hand. NEVER say yes to the first person that comes forward, because something better will always come up, but go on here and fb and ask about. etek 3, am/lt for around 240 in camo was going about a while ago, that was a good deal.

There are loads of second hand guns (don't buy new) in that price range, from ethas, eteks, axes, minis, to older high end guns such as egos, geos, and dye matrixes. Use the search function on here and google and learn a bit more about each of the gun styles (poppet or spool)and ask questions if you aren't sure. I would recommend a poppet gun for your first tourney gun as the maintence is minimal, where as a spoolie tends to be a little more involved. Hope this helps mate.

Thanks alot for the replies!
Thats exactly the thing I was wondering about poppet or spool and seen as how I have tippies, im only used to super simple maintenance....so was worried!
if I were to put you on the spot? What should I get aha?

Personally I prefer spoolies but any ego/etek will be fine, I would look at ego9/10 as they are around your price mark. As H has already mentioned.

Spool valve markers are generally higher maintenance than poppet valve guns. Most of them have to be well lubed before every day's play and they can be a lil more unpredictable. On the other hand the Ego/ETEK range are pretty much bullet-proof reliable, just chuck em in your bag and they'll work next time you get it out. Maintenance is required infrequently and when it is, it's very simple, fast and well documented in the manuals available here.

I wouldn't recommend getting an ego8 or older due to a few slightly more fiddly reliability concerns (QEVs) so get the latest/prettiest you can afford.
