Looking for some marker advice :)

Hi there.

I've been to a few punter days and loved it . I'm looking to get some of my own gear so I can start hitting up walkons.
I think my local field has sup-air and woodsball days, I may also go to a few scenarios in the future. I've been looking at the following markers.
Empire axe
Invert mini
Dye dm13

Have anyone got any advice on these?

I don't know a lot but:
The mini is very popular as a first gun, tends to be cheaper than the other two.
The axe is a little bit more expensive and there are plenty of upgrades that can be added.
The DM 13 is the most expensive of the 3, in my personal opinion it's the better looking of the three. They are easy to maintain and easy to get spares for as are still quite new.

I've heard that all three are easy to use and I think to be honest my best best advice is that you go and try out markers in person to see what you think to them as what I love may not be what you or someone else will love.

Nice one, what sort of marker do people generally use in scenario games? I'm guessing its more milsim orientated.

Quite a few do use Milsim markers. I've got 2 myself
But a lot of people do use speed ball markers also. It all depends on your play style and what you are comfortable with. A few of the guys I play with have switched to speed ball markers dye to the weight and size difference to milsim markers (which tend to be heavier)

planet eclipse etha could be a good start, it also allows you to add features to turn it into a nice looking scenario marker aswell as have the feature to keeping it as a plain light weight marker.

If you are looking at going to walk ons, introduce yourself to those attending and ask in person. It's often good to ask if you try a marker out on the chrono. Most players will be happy to let you run off a few and get a feel. Everyone is going to have a personal preference and that might not be the same as yours. A big part of it will come to spending power, if you can spend best part of 1K on your first marker and want want something tournie ready then yes sure go with the DM13, you could find something half the price though. Have a look around the forums for used markers too, a lot of decent markers come up at decent prices that can get you on the field keeping up with the latest markers on the market.

Best advice I can give is, get a mask and get to a walkon, the sites will be more than happy to rent you a marker etc, then you can have a look and feel of different markers and hopefully try some out.

I would say more people use speedball style guns than milsim style simply because players do other style events as well.

Cheers for the advice , I've already ordered my mask and and bought a second hand rotor. Il probo keep an eye out for a second hand speedball style marker,. Also What's the score with filling bottles at sites? Is it mostly air they provided. I think my nearest sites combat paintball in northwold or thetford.

I originally started out with a TPN Sierra One.It looks like an AR15 rifle,and with a cyclone feed was a beast.It was unstoppable no matter the weather.After that I decided to lean more towards a speedball marker and ended up with an Etek 3.Granted it was 2nd hand and bought from here,it was well looked after and has shot perfectly since I bought it.At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference,mine being the Etek now.lol.
