Dye i4's won't let you down if you're willing to splash money (bearing in mind they're not that much more expensive than other thermal masks and come with HD lens as standard.)

They are small though and will leave your neck/forehead exposed without head and neckwear.

Having taken up the sport a few months ago, my best purchase is most certainly my mask. I'm using an i4 at the minute and can't fault it at all. I've played in the rain and snow and its still never steamed up once.

Whatever you go for, as long as it is comfortable and a thermal lense to stop the fogging that plagues stock masks on sites then you won't go far wrong!

is the JT elite prime a good starter mask?
I have no experience of the Prime, but do have the JT Elite Headshield
They were my second pair of goggles but I hardly used them as being a full head goggle and having a big head I felt too enclosed. I have used them as loan goggles and on occasion with a camera mounted on top

The JT Elite lenses are decent, the price on them puts them in the budget market. I would expect them to be hard plastic (in line with the Headshield and the price range) rather then flexible for bounce / comfort
I would say to try and get to try them and some other models on before spending

Yea these look like normal paintball masks, the ones im on about u can get irom man mask, terminator, predator, all sorts even spider man but the eye holes are vented not like goggles
if you're looking for a mask with a "cool style" i would reccomend the save-phace mask series. you can get some cool looking masks and they're most definitely paintball-approved! Billy Bernaccia (a pro player) wears his. A lot of people swear by them. My advice is go with one of those and stay AWAY from the ebay stuff

Your main sort of paintball brands are gonna be
Proto
JT
Invert
Sly
V Force
Dye
I have Dye i3, bought second hand for £10. Everything was fine with them and they feel lovely to wear and no fog up which is key

I would recommend Secondhand gear if you are new due to the fact that you can get very good condition for a fraction of the price
