Probably some people find your finger rubs on it and the outsides are quite sharp so if your holdig or a long time itll start to hurt after a while..

To stop wedding ring rub on the trigger guard? It's what I'd do if I didn't wear gloves to play.

I found that if i play for a long time with an axe the frames edge rubs the finger next to my pinky, i use self amalgamating rubber tape underneath the electrical tape so hopefully it wont mark it. X
