Thats not a bad idea really, though how can they validate who is and who isnt!?
I guess similar to what bev just said

i am prepared to give/send Mods copy of my address details to prove that i am a genuine seller. all i am asking is to be able to sell my gear. i am not asking a lot.

other forum that i use, for my trade, i have had to prove that i am qualified, and prove my address, for verification purposes, that involved sening a copy of utility bill dated within last 3 mths.

Send a copy of passport or drivers license or something... again its a lot of hassle for the mods. Only other thing is that everyone insists people send money as paypal owed :p

but if it reduces the problems on the classifieds, then it would be worth it, as non genuine sellers, would not be prepared to go thru the verification. as they would have something to hide.

I like the idea bud, but in this politically correct age so many would not. We can't expect people to give this much info away.

Can we instead use IP address as only secure way of Noob-seller system?? Ergo the site can inform police of problems like we have had, so they can track people involved???? Basically try selling from a different IP you set up from, then no sale

Am I right in thinking that all the issues have been with kids (under 18 year olds)? If so maybe put an age restriction in.,, if someone younger wants to trade they need there parents to do it or if they want to sell need to find an older paintballer who can do it on there behalf? (granted putting an age restriction in means more work for the mods and I know all the younger ones will have a moan at the suggestion but still... worth a thought
Just putting this out there; I know why you've suggested this but I'm 17 and I've only ever had one trading 'Problem' that wasn't even on this Forum, the problem was resolved rather quickly aswell.
If you take a look at my feedback it's all positive (So Far), so again it's tarring all younger players with the same Brush. I understand why but personally I wouldn't be in favour of this as I've also met lots of younger players/sellers that have had no problems.
My Parents wouldn't want to be involved in this Forum as they have far to much other stuff to deal with (Like most)
(Not having a go just stating my own opinion on this)

I personally believe this New Rule is more than adequate, If you're new to the sport ask questions, chat to other players there's plenty of banter round the forum!
Or buy a Plat Membership - Either way you're helping the Forum grow!
I've been registered a Year and a half (give or take) and I've posted loads, sometimes pointless rubbish and other times useful information (Rarely useful! haha)
Trust me 20 Posts will be done in no time at all!

Also admin

There's (As you probably have seen) lots of new posts asking why certain newer members have no access to classifieds (Privileges), I've seen before that as soon as a member goes to click on the section it pops up with a message saying (You need at least 10 posts to gain access) For example. Is there anyway you could do this? Or maybe blank out classifieds like the Plat Club (To non Plats) until they reach the desired post limit?
(Just out of interest, sorry if you have already thought about this)

Well, seeing as you put it so nicely.

No. There are over 28000 registered members here, what makes you special and exempt from the rules?

i am not saying that i am special, but how does me pay £8, to become Platinum, and then selling, make this safer?

someone could pay the £8, and still do it, so how come that is different? why not put a small admin charge on people who genuinely want to sell, before they make there quota of posts?, that then puts the choice with them.

Are you still arguing?? I get the feeling it's arguing for the sake of building your post count. Got some news for ya, keep it up and I'll delete your posts then you're back to square one.

50 post limit is on the table, I'm for it personally.

With an attitude like yours, would I want to buy anything from you?? No. I imagine if something arrived broken or faulty you wouldn't be that bothered to be honest. As you say, you've a few bits to flog, once they're gone you'll be happy and gone too.

this exactlly why i dont normally post.

no matter what the rules, they move the goal posts for there own benefit, if your face doesnt fit on this forum, u will never get anywhere.

your posting average is only 1.6 posts per day, why does that make you so special?

i think the members who have been contributing have all valid points, when new rules are applied ALL members whether new, old, post every day or once a year should have the chance to voice there opinions, without being punished.
