So this positions the police so that they can ask for new laws to be passed that remove the risk of litigation for roughing up 'the public'. Right now everyone thinks that's a good thing, and for good reason. However, I wonder if the cops are purposely stalling their actions in order to further public outcry, and get some protective legislation passed, which would no doubt help them in the future...I haven't spoken to anyone in my local area (Bethnal Green, hackney) that doesn't think it's time for the gloves to come off. I don't think anyones going to be crying over a little bit of extra police loving on these characters.
We're usually the first to moan about Police brutality, (Mayday etc.), but beating up peaceful protestors is different to getting these scrotes back in line.
I am 100% behind the old bill.
waaayyyy behind. lol.
But do you not think that at the end of the day they are civilains too? and therefore cannot be exspemt from the laws that we all followbubblegum as i said in certain situations yes.
the police have their hands tied at the moment,as we have seen over 100 officers have been injured ,but god forbid if 1 of these little scrotes gets a hiding everybody will be up in arms about it.
nobody has been killed yet but it`s going too happen sooner or later.
then what do the police say too the relatives, well we could see what was going on but we couldn`t do anything
I agree with you in prinpcle but its doddgy grownd as we have seen in the past some officer dont know what apreprate force isI don't think they should have carte-blanche, but I do think they should be able to apprehend people using physical force if necessary, and not be sued for it in the civil courts afterwards.
Dusty mentioned Belfast - if this was Belfast there would have been water canons and tear-gas/rubber bullets deployed by now. That's how riots should be handled and what rioters should expect to encounter should they decide to go on the rampage.
My old dear's afraid to leave the house. She says there's a chopper hovering overhead and the owners of the local shops are standing outside their businesses with their friends, holding suspiciously long rolls of newspaper. It reminds me of the Korean shopkeepers bravely defending their stores in LA during the riots there.
At least the Koreans had shotguns.
True Bubba, I guess they are in a tough spot. Do what needs to be done and suffer the 'civil rights consequences' later, or don't do enough, and be called giant pusxies in uniform. But do you not think that at the end of the day they are civilains too? and therefore cannot be exspemt from the laws that we all follow
