'Other means' I'm intrigued. But remember paintball wasn't born as a sport, it was used for other means, like marking tree's I think.
Trees and live stock.

1970
James Hale of Daisy Manufacturing, invented and patented what would become the first paintball gun.
This original paintball gun was manufactured and used by farmers and ranchers for marking trees and livestock.

Dog the bounty hunter uses a paintball gun with the balls filled with CS/Pepper spray as he is not allowed to have a firearm because of his conviction being in a car when the rest of the gang he was with murdered someone when buying drugs

Canon Fodder

Go to your brother, kill him with your gun.

Rider - by deduction the whole 330 fps thing is nonsense while firing paintballs then since that only comes from the calculation to get an average weight paintball to 12 ft/lb, which is a relief because otherwise most of the pistols out there are firearms.

yeah there legal but if you pull out a marker in a place its not intended to be used it becomes classed as a Class 2 Firearm under the Firearms Act and means your get some men in black clothes paint red dots all over your chest lol :D
