I don't watch things like this frikkin Will / Kate thingy going on but the wife does and so I have to suffer it every time I walk in my front room.

I just can't abide all the fawning behaviour of people who interact with royalty as they demean themselves, why on earth they have to be so deferential is beyond me but this is not the point of this post ... I noticed something when I was looking at the crowds celebrating this event; and it was something i also noticed at Diana's funeral ... we are supposed to be a multicultural society are we not ... take a look at those people in the crowds and ask yourself, do they represent our country???
If not, why not???

Surely you'd think the need to celebrate such an event would be kindled in all people of our nation ...no?

Thoughts anybody?

Its a difficult question! I'd hope they don't represent our country, because i'd like to think that people in general are a bit more free thinking then to just blindly worship the royals as they are doing. Its almost a cult of personality. There are much more important things going on at the moment then the marriage, patriotism and nationalism always serves a purpose.

I dont know what all the fuss is about. I would rather watch Shrek getting married again, at least then i see the kids having a laugh and giggle.
From what i see on the news and papers, there are some sad people who commit there whole lives following the Royals, do they not have a life of there own ?

Nitro, nobody is debating the fuss generated mate ...take a look at the first post and re-read .. the fact people wanna go see it is academic here, what's interesting is the demographic on show.

The Church of England isn't likely to invite a bunch of heretics to witness it's finest hour for the past 20 years....
