Eyup peeps...

After scouring the threads for some instructions on dying flexs I managed to get some on the go today.
Pulled these out of the cooking pot about an hour ago and I think they came out pretty cool:)
(first attempt at custom dying so im pretty pleased anyway. Just gotta get me some more frames for my next set now;))

amazing what you can do with a tube of pritt stick!!

What's the process? They look really good.

Big pot of water on the stove, chuck in a few bags of dye, salt and washing up liquid.Stir a little. Draw pretty patterns on frames (colour of frames wants to be lighter than the dye colour) with glue. When glue is dry dunk in pot of dye, make a coffee, have a biscuit, give it ten minutes and jobs a good un. Wash off glue and you SHOULD have a nice crazy looking set of custom flexes. Be warned that if you do it as casual as I did, prepare to get messy:cool:

Got some ideas for some pretty cool frames that I will be doing soon, now I know the process works etc. Watch this space lol

What dye did you use dude? Dylon?
No fella....DONT use Dylon. It wont work (as I found out the hard way:tsk:). Rit dye is the one to use. Powdered rit dye is preferable (as oppossed to liquid), especially if you are looking to dye the sponge on your frames as it rinses out easier apparantly.

You also have to factor in the colour you are trying to dye etc so just remember that if you are having a bash at it. I used two packs of black dye to cover a variety of colours. I started with one pack and the red started to come out more of a pruple untill I whacked in another packet.

Can you keep re dying? like dunk once to get red lines, remake a blue mixture and another pritt stick outline and get a red and blue scheme going?

also how well does it stick up to paintballs? any flaking?

Also, Dextrus, its nice to see another colts fan :D
