1mm is WAY to thick for annodizing... Pure Alu oxidises (ano's) 2-3 nanometres deep, while some alloys can anno 5-15 nm deep

You learn something new everyday:) nanometres....sounds like something out of an aliens movie:D

BINGO!!
Spoke with the 'Colour anodizing' plant manager direct about 5 mins ago. He informed me that a custom anno of however many colours and parts will cost me £75 + VAT & carriage (around £100). He did also say that if there where more than the parts that I wanted doing i.e another gun etc it would be covered in that same price:)
I also asked him about the planet pictures in his gallery and he informed me that it iss the very same company that does all the eclipse factory gats.....so quality guaranteed:D:D

Turn around time is 3-4 days:)

I've got all the details etc and will be sending my gat in for some work in the coming weeks. Anyone else fancy going in a joint deal to bring down costs?

edit: oooooh.......they are based in Manchester too!

Quality.......I have an Xmag breech i want doing gloss black if that is ok with you....

Cheer's Mike
Sounds fine to me. Let me get my head around the best way to do this. Probably be worth setting up a seperate thread etc and capping the amount of bits to stop it getting confusing:cool:
I am looking for black parts with pref a polished finish (dust is also good). Didnt ask him about the finishes:doh:was too busy getting excited at the prospect of being able to have a new shiny gat in less than a week :D.

I did ask about different colours though and he said to me " for example, if you wanted a barrel done blue and a frame done pink, it would all be covered in the £75 charge. If you wanted more than ten parts doing, e.g more than one gun, that would also be covered in the £75 charge". I will call them back later and ask if there is extra charges for polish finishes etc, I imagine that there will be though.

Will sort a thread out shortly for anno work to be done. Need to see if I can dig out one of the old threads on group anno jobs from years ago to see how it worked best.

If your going for black custom anno work then count me in, I have a geo which requires a re-colour just to spruce it up.

laser engraving and annodizing aren't the same thing, just so everyone's aware! ;)

Dont ask me about how DYE do their PGA stuff as it seems to be the lovechild of laser engraving and annodizing but on their own, they are 2 different processes.
