First off Mods if this is in the wrong section i apoligise!
Hey guys its been a while scinse ive been on here but ive just started a new project and may need some help.
I've been paintballing for a while and in recent years I've been going to more big games and walk ons and I've been really impressed with the quality and quanity of shrouds out there to turn your humble marker into something that looks like a real weapons. It's personally not my thing BUT IM NOT HERE TO JUMP DOWN PEOPLES THROTES IN THEIR CHOICE OF MARKER (just wanted to make that clear) but it did make me think. Paintball guns allready look like sciense fiction ray gun......why not make a shroud to create a reconisable sci-fi gun.....?
Last year I created a shroud to turn my Tippman 98 into the Gears Of war Lancer
The ruler next to it is 12 inches long....its a 3 foot marker without and air tank. inside is just a
OLD Tippmann 98 with a 22" J&J ceramic barrel (and yes im a 24 year old guy wearing pac man socks....live with it)
Once I finished this project, and stopped feeling smug with myself, I decided to start a new kit, something bigger, somthing better....
...The M56 Smartgun from "Aliens"
Now this will be made of Four main componant parts....
The Main Body
The base of the gun is the German MG42 and by chance I found a guy who makes MG42 shrouds for paintball, i was lucky enough to pick up one of these second hand cheeply
The Smartgun Extras
Now to convert the MG42 into something sci-fi and awsum James Cameron stuck motercycle parts to the outside of the gun, ive allready been able to get hold of resin copys of a few of these, mainly the front struts and the forward control handle
The "Rig"
The Smartgun itself is surported on a Stedicam harness. these cost upwards of £1000 so i will be speaking to engernear friends to help me build this.....
The Marker
Now the final part of this monstrosity will be the paintball gun to go inside. it needed to be electonic, easy to use and preferably open blow back for easy cocking......By chance I've got once of those just hanging around, an E-Rex Elite!
The Trigger control and power button are both going to be moved so i can get rid of most of the grip frame, the ,main body of the marker will be housed in the rear section of the shroud with the barrel encased in tubing so it will reach the end of the MG42.
At the moment this project is only just starting and it will take me some time, but i would to hear any ideas you guys have. and befor you ask yes im crazy and have far to much time on my hands.....
Thanks for looking, speak soon!
