hi all, anyone got a barrrell kicking around that they dont use. stock size is 11 inch, but i have heard that 14 inch is a lot better and alot more accurate..

a nice lightweight barrel would be excellent like a dye or similar. let me know what you have got and we can discuss finances etc.

sorry for the probably silly question.. but what size is the standard barrel on the proto slg ul? .685? .689? .693?

just so i know what size to get.. if i have a .685 barrel as standard and i buy a .689.. will i need to buy different paintballs for each barrel?

whats the difference between barell calibres?

The difference in calibre is the internal size of the barrel. The sizes of paintballs isn't exact. Each manufacturer will be different. In fact every batch won't be exactly the same. So really you would be better off getting a barrel kit or a couple of different sized barrels. As you can match the paint you are using to the barrel. This will make the marker more accurate/consistent.

i think they are getting a little smaller but nothing you can really notice and i would go for a .689 probally as it will shoot almost all the paint out there which is .68

Don`t buy a 20" barrel

They reckon anything past 14" starts to be a waste, you won`t see a massive change in accuracy but you will be wasting more air.

I have a 16" one piece on my tippman98 which helped with its accuracy massively against its stock barrel, which is tiny, like an 8"

But even that feels ridiculously long, a 20" barrel on a proto SLG would be OUTRAGEOUS it would feel like your holding a spear.

Go with a 14" they are most effective in all aspects, preferably a two piece as its easier to clean broken paint and get that oil out of the barrel which is very hard with a one piece.

Sorry i`ve moved away from the thread topic, but I couldnt see you go buy the wrong thing!

Nick, either get a 14" dye UL barrel or 14" unitec barrel mate I have used both and liked both.

Get a 14" or a 16" at a max!
