Hi,

Not sure if this was the best place to post this thread but considering im a newbie myself I think this is my best bet :D

Ok, so, myself and a group of mates at uni are starting up a paintballing "club" at our students union. My job is to find some good venues that we can go to on a regular basis without breaking the bank (to an extent!).

Weve all been paintballing as rentals at different sites and are pretty keen to grab our own kit. It's also come to our attention BYO paint is considerably cheaper than buying from sites :p

Anyhows, an ideal site for us would be:

- Located in the midlands/ north west uk

- Let us use our own kit

- Allow us to use BYO paint

- Have walk-on events

- Air Refills in opposed to/ as well as CO2

Only place ive found that matches most if not all this criteria is Unreal Paintball in Madeley (which is awesome! :D) but I can't take the guys the same place all the time or they'll think im doing a bad job!

Any other sites people could reccomend that match this criteria would be greatly appretiated. I may be asking for alot but I can dream ^^

Thanks! :)

If the plan is to play regularly then try to come to an agreement with site paint.

BYO paint is cheaper than 'punter' paint, but with a regular arrangement / walkon priices the site paint price will go down.

If you are coming regularly but not using site paint then all they make is the green fee. If you add on the cost of buying paint and postage or transoprting it over the green fee tehn there is scope for the site to make profit on paint and for you to not break the bank.

Most sites wont let u bring your own paint, some do but alot dont, unless it is a specific walk on day for obvious reasons.

What your looking for in your list pretty much doesnt happen anymore on the majority of sites.
Most just want you to book in like on a rec day, however if you can come to some sort of a deal with the owner to run you a regular slot at his site on a regular date every week or whatever, then your laughing but it has to be worth the site owners while to bother even opening to accomodate you, meaning you have to have a decent amount of numbers going.

Only place ive found that matches most if not all this criteria is Unreal Paintball in Madeley (which is awesome! ) but I can't take the guys the same place all the time or they'll think im doing a bad job!
Getting just one place to do this is a good job mate, otherwise your looking at doing what the majority do and that is just attend walk on events or training days etc...

S.W.A.T. Paintball on The Wirral do a walkon the last sunday of every month.
It isn't BYO paint but they got everything else you need and a heavy preference to getting as many people with their own gats to come along.

My team use a local training site - we pay a fiver green fee and buy boxes at near enough the same price they're paying for it. In return - we help out marshalling when required, make sure punters adhere to the rules when we're close by and often wear site-hoodies as a means of promotion. Being in a uni, I'm sure you could arrange some sort of advertising with local sites - there's such a huge target market in the uni that they'd be silly to pass up the opportunity of extra footfall.
