think the fact the plate stacked anybody against anybody was good, warped 2 was made up of diffrent level players and they got a chance to play against teams normally out of there reach, and proved worthy opponets and made it to the playoffs aswell, so imo worked well, as anything can happen over 1 point !

Sorry but i still don't see that having xball squads taking all three Fed Plates away from standard M5 teams was good for the sport, i understand that some teams don't always get the chance to play the Top UK Teams and im sure some enjoyed it but really,,, come on ...

XBALL as a whole should have been kept out of these divisions and given the chance to play off for another Fed Plate..

Personally, I thought it was a nice having all the teams mixed up in the Fed Plate, it had that FA Cup feeling about it with teams playing against opposition they may have never had the chance to play against.... I was speaking to some '5-man' players I know well and they seemed fairly chuffed and geared up to play against the 'Xball' teams.

We (Birmingham Temper) finished 3rd in the plate and although we played Xball on Saturday, we are a new Xball team (2-3 months) old with players coming from 5-man teams. I didnt feel as if we had an over whelming advantage over most of the other 5 man teams, and by no means was it an easy path to the finals! I can certainly see why some people would prefer to see the Fed Plate split for Xball and 5-man, and I guess this could be implemented if more teams played the Fed Cup, but personally I want to play be playing against the best.... when we drew the so-called group of death in xball I had a massive :D as you don't get many opportunities to play against the likes of HK and Shock; we did and were fortunate to claim victories over them which makes the event even more special. Yeah, we didn't qualify for Sunday's Xball finals but I'm pleased to have played against the 'TOP' teams the Fed Cup had to offer.

How do you expect to improve only playing the same level of teams as yourself??? The only way to get better in the long run is to play teams alot better than yourself. Speaking from experience here, playing teams that you get smashed by teaches you more than playing a team of equal level. You learn the hard way and means you have to make improvments quicker, make a mistake in a game against a hard team and you will notice it as they use it against you where as team that aren't so good wouldnt notice the mistake.

There is no point going on the field against any team thinking you have already lost...Go on the field thinking that you will take it to them, push them to their limits and if you win then people will notice! If you don't then oh well its just another team that got beat by a better one.

I'd rather play one game against a much better team than 10 against teams of equal or lower ability, simply as you will learn more.

If we (Birmingham Temper) had the attidude that we were just gonna get rolled by the teams we played then we would have, but we took the opportunity we had to play London Shock and HK army, even Reading Entity...and showed tham all what we were capable of...And we did

So all those who moan about playing harder teams don't bother moaning... why bother playing if you don't push yourself to the limits???

sorry Carl but i would have to disagree with your point, if you wanna win something and play teams around your standard then the 4 league series around the country allow you to this month on month and to compete for a division title with combined results.

i again personally would prefer to play better teams and get hammered because it encourages you to learn how to cope with playing against better players/teams and eventually you end up competing against them around their level.

although my team hasn't really played alot this year, if it wasn't for playing the better teams and having the guys that run them tell us why they blew us away so easy we would be half as good as we are now. which by the the way we played at the weekend we'd be proper shiXX and not just shiXX.

it was a cup so mix em all together, but if your gonna do that more games please.

alternatively you could do some real complicated handicap system, just another thought to make it so anyone can win it.

I here what you were saying but those lower teams need to play your team too for them to step up the ladder so to speak... then against game hardened top teams and they get smashed would lose hope and their attendances at events would diminish as they would see no chance of winning anything...they see themselves as points fodder. The SPPS last year was run with two divisions which permitted two winning teams and two runners up. this can pay dividends too.
The coaching at the five man meant that when a player managed to work his way up the field and could have turned games around, his position was given away by someone not even on the field. I think this can also have a negative effect on younger inexperienced teams.
I'd rather play one game against a much better team than 10 against teams of equal or lower ability, simply as you will learn more.
