I thought the event was very good , but organiseation could of been a bit better.

We had games today straight after the other .

But a good event overall , marshalling wasnt too shabby

For some of our players it was thier first time at a tournament and they loved it.
Thanx Rich for introducing them to this wild world.
Fields - Great
Facilities - Great
Refs- Hard sometimes, but consistant = Great
5man meeting X-ball - taught our new lads a lesson the hard way- could do better
Trade show - great

Overall a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you at CPPS next year
At least we won the paint raffle

Fed cup

Rich and Mark did this event proud as usual, where else can you get such good fields. I think alot of the teams in the Knock out would have liked more games on Sunday and probably a Dye and Planet tech would have been nice.
Good prizes and awesome Cups.
Marshals calls will never be right for everyone but thats life. playing order a bit confusing, but we had a great time.

She is far too sensitive to be seen sitting legs akimbo a bucking bull; she wouldn't even be interviewed on camera at a recent CPPS event because the wind was a tad too gusty and in her words made her look 'a bit windswept' ..... with that degree of physical and mental toughness in kind, I don't she's exactly SAS material somehow and so the allure of mounting a bucking bull in front of about 50 geezers who had spent the entire evening trying to down as much alcohol as is humanly possible wasn't gonna be that attractive for her.

As a fully paid up Federation member, I think she should have made more of an effort to involve herself and so next year I think I'll make it mandatory for all members to mount the Minotaur especially when it's for a children's charity ... in fact, that's the first thing on my agenda for next year

Overall, I think it went off really well and this is mainly due to the hard work of Rich Harriss; he had a pretty difficult task to deal with the Fed's directives, or rather lack of them.

We [The Fed] learned more this year than last and that's because Rich worked closely with us because if last year taught us one thing, we needed a system where ALL aspects were accountable and that includes financial as well as things like rules and procedures etc ....

Rich and Mark did a fantastic job for everybody and I'm extremely grateful to them both for the way they dealt with us on the board and for the way they organsied and ran the Cup for us.

We [the Fed] have already discussed some of the things we need to do for next year and we are going to announce the dates at the beginning of the year and we also discussed making the Cup an integral part of the CPPS and NSPL with the Cup being held in the middle of the calendar year.
We also talked about using the scores from the cup as part of the year's overall scoring for teams which is a significant departure from what we have previously done in that we kept the Cup independent from the league's final scorings for the year.
As I say, these are to be discussed but the principles of both ideas are I think improvements and so I hope we adopt them because it eventually benefits everybody concerned.
Ledz will no doubt formally announce any changes we do make some time soon and so until then, we can just cross our fingers that the changes will be made in accordance with the discussions we had at the cup.

Next year, the industry, in the form of the Federation board will be focusing our attention on making damned sure we optimise our support for our sanctioned leagues, primarily those who will be connected in some way to the Fed Cup.
It makes sense to do this for obvious reasons because the NSPL and CPPS represent the vast majority of Brit teams with well over 80 teams attending their events throughout the year, sometimes over 90.

No other leagues get anywhere near this attendance figure and we believe this is because there is a common belief within the two leagues mentioned that tallies almost exactly with what the Fed are trying to achieve for Brit paintball.

These leagues have the interests of UK paintball firmly lodged into their hearts and NOT rammed in their back pockets or purses..
You will get value for money at these events with standards of reffing, health and safety etc all being overseen by the Fed.
The CPPS/NSPL - Federation Board partnership is the future UK paintball needs for its survival, the sooner everybody realises this and jumps on board the better .... I for one, look toward 2011 with a fair degree of optimism; the likes of Chris Pelling working alongside Mark Carter and Rich Harriss is encouragement enough when I look into paintball's crystal ball especially when I know what all the other board members wish to achieve.

I wanna thank all those teams and players who attended at the weekend and also to all the vendors and to all the refs who worked their cobblers off in sometimes rain-swept conditions, thanks to everybody ?!!!

politics is the major problem that the sport of paintball needs to combat in the UK
people within the sport need to look at the bigger picture

Biscuit, politics will always play a part in paintball, all we can do is hope people can either grow up or grow a pair of bollocks; I'm not at all surprised 'politics' reared its head again at a Fed event but I'm afraid these petulant examples of politics have nothing to do with the Fed itself but are directed toward me personally.... unfortunately some people will not allow themselves to align themselves with a body whose sole existence is to try and help UK paintball back on its feet with that same body having me as chairman.

He uses whatever effluence [oops, sorry, I mean 'influence', a Freudian slip there] he has to make a point and it's a point that ultimately works against the interests of UK Paintball; bottom line is, he doesn't care what detrimental effect it might have on UK Ball, his prime motive is to try and get back at me and because he has had zero success in every other attempt.

Sad really but then again, he cuts a pretty forlorn figure as he stands there alone, continually puffing on his cancer sticks, sipping tea with his little finger pointed outward toward an extremely overweight masseur ...he has no friends, no respect and no real future ... sad, real sad

Still, the rest of UK Paintball can take heart the vast majority of the industry are working together and are all enjoying what we do in trying to get UK ball back where we used to be and back where we deserved to be.
We used to be at the top of the European pile, I'd like to see us back there and after what I saw at the weekend [I will comment upon this in another thread and I'll add a link here when I have finished it] things are looking up, we just need to get organsied guys; we are willing if you are, that's the message going into 2011 guys; it's up to us all !

Anyway, whatever we do, have fun people, that's the most important thing for all of us.

fed cup review

hi all
first off can i thank rich and mark and all the ref's, my watford boys had a great time and will be returning at some point next season,
i would also like to appologise if my generator disturbed any of you, however i would just like to say we arrived at 3pm friday afternoon we set up right up the top end of the camping area and placed the generator behind the van so to shield some of the noise, at that point we were at least
30 metres away from any campers, we had a large set up as i have to care for 7 kids, so i need to supply facilities for them, we bought our own paint and we needed to keep it warm the generator was going all night for the radiator in the van, so i thought this was fair, however did feel a bit sorry for the person who pitched his little tent not three feet from the generator in the car park , then people with one small tent parked there cars in the camping area which filled it up, so that people had to camp in the car park , also another quick point as we left we made sure our area was tidied and rubbish bagged up to make it easier for rich and his crew to tidy the site, as we drove out beong one of the last campers to leave the camping area was a mess strewn with litter and general crap also not fair try and tidy up after yourselfs rich and the crew have enough to do without tidying up after you, we tried to be thoughtfull shame others didnt!

my kids enjoyed the event, but it seemed a bit unfair we paid the full amount to compete as we paid in full 2 months in advance, then as i see it due to lack of numbers the fed plate entry was introduced at £99 to get more entrants, and the div's were a bit unfair, novice teams playing millenium div1 and above teams, how were the lower teams suppose to stand any chance, im a long standing supporter of the ukpsf and will remain so, and as for the federation i feel they are trying to do the right thing, so will support there plans for next season, we have to bear in mind the federation is only 2 years old and it takes time to build something great, so we can lay all the above coments of mine down to a learning curve, and just hope that some of the constructive comments are taken on board.

also a big up to ross shire raiders for their sportsman like conduct !

I was there for Saturday and am Sunday have 2,000+ photographs and will be giving the Federation Website and UK paintball scene first shout on the images...once thats sorted I will try to get them up via a hosting site with a link here and or make video clips for you tube.
