And we are now a bit older, a bit more stable and kids grown up to an age where you can actually take them places, I miss the old days of travelling Europe forthe millenium, but also know that todays game may be a little beyond me in terms of commitment of time, the cash is not a problem, I am not a student!
The vets amongst us would probably like to play still in a more fun enviroment (this I know will last right up till the first game is played!) But the tought of heading out across Europe for 2 or 3 weekends a year and play with my old team mates/adversaries actually is quite appealing!
No need to eat McDonalds every night as that is all the rest of the team could afford, nice hotels, sharing the hire car duties and a light schedule of games in the right places really appeals to me!
Although other ideas such as limited paint (for back aches) smaller fields (for failing eyesight/hearts) and later starts (hangovers) were also put in, with girls as refs as we are all gentlemen now and hardly likely to kick off at a girl (unless it was moody week for them).
Also a pick from the hat team mix might make it more interesting and fun, but that is details waaay down the line.
Imagine a tourney where the only complaints were that the hotel pillows weren't up to 5 star standard and the Dinner last night took a bit long to serve!
