Personally, the UKPSF membership provides a shed load of benefits for £15 a year, the same cost of two Caribbean Goat currys at Campaign Cup!

:)

What you said above Patch, kinda sums it up in terms of an appropriate perspective ... in my opinion, but then again, I ain't gotta pay it and so maybe my opinion's academic anyway.

As Rich says, UKPSF membership for the remaining CPPS events of the season is voluntary.

Both Steve and Rich are stand-up guys, and they are not out to impose any unnecessary expense upon anyone, nor are they in this to line their own pockets.

I personally would like to see this happen, as the UKPSF supplies an ID card for each player.

This would give us the beginnings of a player ID and tracking system along the lines of APPA, which is what I think the PA was trying to achieve.

handy reminder to check my card, ran out 1st July so renewed. Always thought it was a good idea and good base but doesn't go far enough. I think if your gonna use dangerous equipment which your responsible for you should have liability insurance of your equipment damaging someone else. that's why there's car insurance....for cars

Please be advised that UKPSF hold the master policy and by becoming a member of the UKPSF then you are covered by the policy. This therefore cuts the costs to you to a bare minimum.
Almost all sports club have player and public liability insurance and include this fee within the annual club fees so you don't notice it and normally it is for the bare minimum of cover.
Scenario players have been paying for this cover for years and more sign up daily
SupAir players waste 1/2 box of paint over the chrono every time they play I do not see what the fuss is over £15 per year
Don't expect any public liability you currently have to also cover paintball, I have both DJ and American Football cover and they are mutually exclusive - nice money for the companies, but we all know that's how they work
No matter how you look at it you are playing a sport that has a high risk factor
4500psi gas cylinder
Gas powered gun
200mph Projectile
Contact sport
The only reason insurance is not mandatory for all paintball equip owner is because currently we are self regulated, so be responsible and realise that no matter how careful you are, accidents can happen and if it is down to a fault of you or your equipment then you could be liable.
My suggestion is to embrace it now before it is forced on you at a higher cost.

N.B. If you want to see any details of the insurance schedule then make a formal request for information direct to the UKPSF.

OK I have read your comments and replied to some individuals personally.

I have requested a fuller statement of conditions from the insurers as requested by players and once I have it it will be posted on the UKPSF website for members to read.

I have also SUSPENDED all new membership applications until further notice. (Once the web tech has acted upon my request)

WHY - Simple unlike maybe some of you think it is not a scam, it is not a money making exercise for the UKPSF it is a non profit making scheme to supply players with a degree of personal accident cover and public liability. The £15 covers the cost of the insurance, paypal fees, the card and a stamp. - it pays me ZERO - NOTHING - £0 to me!!!! I do it in my time at a cost to me not YOU!!! So why spend an hour or two a week processing cards ?- A question I have asked myself several times in the last two days and the answer I have come up with is - I would be better spending that time running my business that pays my wages

I will continue to run the site side of the UKPSF but as far as the players side (i.e. the insurance and membership scheme) when players’ membership expires they will have to sort out their own cover.

Players who are current members will be covered under the personal accident policy and the public liability policy until their membership expires or the 15th June 2011 when the policy is due to be renewed. Players current cover is not affected as the June 2010- June 2011 policy has been fully paid

It is a pity some players can't see beyond the end of their barrels - for those who can THANK YOU for your support

I hope the small minority who have cast the questions of Steve's motives behind the scheme are truely happy that they have now spoilt the insurance for the vast majority of us who truely appreciated what Steve Bull had put into place to protect us.

Also remember not have have you spoilt this for the supair community but also our brothers who play woodsball and big games who also benefited from the insurance cover

Well done and thank you

Steve I really hope you will change you mind on stopping the scheme as many more people support what you do for paintball than question it.
